I met Saskia through my daughter-in-law and because of Marina’s enthusiasm, I went along with her to her lesson. That was it! Hooked! Saskia makes the lessons so much fun but at the same time you are learning. I hated sewing at school, but at the age of 62, I met Saskia. She is very patient, doesn’t roll her eyes when you ask her to show you again (and again). Yes, if you really want to learn, get in touch with Dotty Bobbin.
I’m really loving the whole sewing class experience with you! I love learning in a fun, relaxed and exciting manner and this is exactly how the morning sessions are run by you! Not only am I learning new skills, I’m getting to know and love my sewing machine more. Saskia has an incredibly calm and yet energetic personality and is a joy to spend time with, my only negative is that 2 hours goes too quickly! When are you going to start sewing retreats?!
I arrived at Dotty Bobbin at the beginning of April 2014 a complete sewing novice. By the end of my first session Saskia had taken me through a few sewing machine basics and I came home with a pin cushion – a great achievement for someone who has not touched a sewing machine for 25+ years! Four sessions later my new ‘made by me’ Roman blind is hanging pride of place in my dining room. Saskia is full of ideas and a brilliant teacher. She has oodles of patience and guides you step by step through your chosen project at a comfortable pace.
Her classes are relaxed, informal and very welcoming whatever your level of sewing knowledge.
Meet new people, have fun whilst learning new skills
Always a fab evening, no knowledge needed as will be taught from scratch in small groups, in a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend to all my friends
My time out that I look forward to every week to unlock my creative side. Saskia is great, has an answer for every problem and easy top tips to make every project a great success. Thank you x
I’ve had a sewing machine since I was a school girl, but I never really knew how to use my machine properly. The machine has not been used for years. Then I was introduced to Saskia and her sewing class. I’ve learned so much and have made some bits I’m really proud of. It’s endless what this clever lady knows. I’m now having a go at upholstery. These classes have opened up a whole new world to me, I look forward to my Wednesday sewing class, and meeting up with the others there.
Since I have been attending Saskia’s sewing classes, and the new sewing skills I have learnt it has inspired me to learn more. Saskia is very supportive and encouraging for you to learn new sewing skills, which I never thought I would be able to do. I would like to thank Saskia for giving me this opportunity.
I have been going to Dotty Bobbin now for nearly a year. Saskia is warm, welcoming & a lovely teacher. Her knowledge is endless. She constantly encourages you to do more than you think you can, which always works out for the best.
We all love coming, not only for the sewing but lovely atmosphere Saskia creates. Would highly recommend Dottie Bobbin whatever your level.
I had a great time when Saskia taught me to successfully make 2 tote bags in two, 2 hour lessons.

I like Saskia’s sewing class because you get to make lots of different things that look really nice at the end. Saskia teaches very fun lessons and she makes it easy. It’s so cool and lots of fun to use my own sewing machine.

Saskia’s classes are a nice and easy way to learn sewing skills. It is very relaxing to be sewing away on your own projects and chatting away at the same time with other class participants. I have enjoyed the classes so much that I went out and got a second sewing machine so I don’t have to share the old one with my 9 year old daughter during sewing lessons. I am looking forward to starting sewing my next project.

I have really enjoyed my sewing classes with Saskia. I have learnt how to wind a bobbin, how to do running stitch, zig zag and invisible stitch. I have learnt how to make a stocking, a cushion, a stuffed love-heart, and a rabbit. I have found my sewing lessons so much fun I now want a sewing machine for Christmas!

I am very impressed with the impact that the introduction of sewing has had at Two Waters School. Children Love to design and produce products using a range of cross-curricular skills. Sewing activities have enhanced many areas of the primary curriculum and the extra-curricular sewing club is always over-subscribed.
